LACOSTE LAB
2012_01_05
the ski
The story of the Crocodile and the crow.
At the start of 2010, we were contacted by the famous French brand Lacoste and asked to participate in the "LACOSTE LAB" project, supervised by Christophe Pillet, LACOSTE head of the design. The aim of this initiative was to merge both design and technology around legendary sports objects, co-created by LACOSTE and different other specialised partners.
A symbol of both innovation and tradition in the sports world, LACOSTE is a brand which benefits from an exceptional identity and know-how. For a young French ski company such as Black crows, this initiative seemed to us to be just as interesting as it was motivating. We therefore took the plunge, like a crow above an empty fallow field, to try to create a ski which would live up to the expectations of the Crocodile brand.
The ski has a very minimal design, white and green of course, with a few striking details such as "LACOSTE" embossed in big on the back of the ski and the famous "Crocodile" inlayed into the top of the right ski. This ski is a limited series, numbered and engraved from 1 to 350.
Of course, this ski has been designed by Yorgo Tloupas.
The LACOSTE LAB will be launched exclusively on the 9th of January 2012 in the famous "boutique " colette in Paris. A few years back, Colette had already seen a flock of Corvus 196 roaming around rue Saint-Honoré...
To be see on snow!
